PRESS RELEASES > January 1, 2003 MTXEPS, Inc., is Formed Hypercom today announced the spin-off of the WinEPS electronic payment software. The new company, MTXEPS, Inc., will focus solely on the growing electronic payments industry. WinEPS software, the leading payment engine in the retail food industry, will be developed, marketed and supported by the newly formed company. MTXEPS will be a privately owned company, operated by Mr. Thomas Lineck as CEO and Mr. Jonathon Elwood as President. Mr. Lineck has been the Vice President of the Hypercom/WinEPS multilane software products for Hypercom for the last three years. Previously, Mr. Lineck was a founding member of MicroTrax. Mr. Elwood has been the product manager for the WinEPS software for the last five years, and has been involved with the electronic payments industry for over ten years. MTXEPS will continue to focus strictly on the ever-changing world of electronic payments. While working with Hypercom will still be a priority, MTXEPS will truly be terminal independent, support all popular terminals in the industry. This will setup MTXEPS to be the leading terminal independent, host independent, and POS independent payment engine in the industry. Electronic payments usage continues to expand with different programs offered by credit card companies, smart cards, biometrics, signature capture, and RF ID. Also, with the use of debit-type transactions for electronic food stamps, welfare benefits, and gift cards, electronic payment transactions are growing daily. While focusing on the changes in the payment industry, MTXEPS will continue to grow and anticipate future requirements.
