Shaw’s Supermarkets Select WinEPS

West Bridgewater, Massachusetts based Shaw’s Supermarkets, Inc., one of the largest food retailers in New England, has selected MTXEPS, Inc. electronic payment software for use in its approximately 200 food stores.

MTX is the industry leader in Electronic Payments for the food store industry. Shaw’s evaluated all major companies in the industry and chose MTX as their payment solution. MTX was selected for several reasons. First was the Open EPS engine, which provides the interface between customer, cashier and the POS. MTX designed the OpenEPS engine to be highly configurable and easily modified which allows Shaw’s to customize WinEPS to fit their needs. Also, of primary concern was MTX’s ability to work with the Hypercom 6000 terminal, ACI Hosting Software, and Innovax Aurora/Safari product.

Shaw’s decided to make this investment to help improve customer service with Signature Capture and expand Customer Loyalty programs. The overall effect will be a faster, more efficient front end and reduced operating expenses. Testing and Lab systems will begin this Fall with the rollout beginning in January, 2004. The rollout is scheduled for completion by the summer of 2004.
